To fully track leads from your Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Ads, you need to add LeadJourney tracking parameters to your ad URLs. These dynamic parameters allow us to capture key campaign information such as campaign ID, ad set ID, ad ID, and placement — which enables 98% accurate lead attribution and customer journey mapping inside your LeadJourney dashboard.

✅ Why It Matters

Without proper tracking parameters:

  • You won’t know which specific Meta ad generated a lead

  • Offline conversions can’t be matched back to the original ad

  • LeadJourney can’t provide full-funnel reporting or optimize your campaigns

With the correct parameters, LeadJourney automatically captures and stores all relevant campaign data — even if cookies are rejected.

🧩 The Tracking Template

Add the following into the URL parameters field of your Meta ad:

lj_channel=meta_ads&lj_c_id={{campaign.id}}&lj_as_id={{adset.id}}&lj_ad_id={{ad.id}}&lj_placement={{placement}}

This structure works dynamically for each campaign, ad set, and ad — no manual updates needed.

🚀 How to Add It to Your Campaigns

Step 1: Go to Meta Ads Manager

  • Log in to your Meta Ads Manager

  • Choose the campaign you want to edit

Step 2: Open the Ad Level

  • Go to the Ad level of your campaign

  • Scroll down to the “Tracking” section

Step 3: Paste the Parameters

In the “URL Parameters” field, insert:

lj_channel=meta_ads&lj_c_id={{campaign.id}}&lj_as_id={{adset.id}}&lj_ad_id={{ad.id}}&lj_placement={{placement}}

✔️ No need to add a question mark — Meta appends it automatically to the URL.

🔎 What Each Parameter Means

Parameter

Description

lj_channel

Identifies the traffic source (Meta Ads)

lj_c_id

Meta campaign ID

lj_as_id

Meta ad set ID

lj_ad_id

Meta ad creative ID

lj_placement

Where the ad appeared (e.g. Instagram Feed)

🛠️ Final Check

  • Parameters are added to every ad

  • The final URL preview includes the tracking string

  • CRM entries include a Click ID after form submission

❗ Important Notes

  • Works with traffic, conversion, and lead generation campaigns

  • Do not use UTM-style tags (like utm_source=) for this purpose — LeadJourney uses its own system

  • You can still combine LeadJourney parameters with your existing UTM tracking, if needed
